Taxonomy

Taxonomy or biological systematics is a branch of science which includes classification, nomenclature, identification, phylogeny and population genetics and thereby creating a taxonomic hierarchy. It is based on the chemotaxonomy, genotypic and phenotypic studies in order to determine the taxa position in taxonomic hierarchy which is now known as "polyphasic taxonomy" for bacterial systematics.
